Organizational Activities
Area residents are needed to work with board members and staff on active committees. These committees are advisory to the board of directors and carry out most of the Lakes Council's organizational activities. Committees meet as needed. Volunteers should be members of the Lakes Council.
Three committees are currently seeking citizen members:
- The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting and maintaining membership, maintaining the membership database, marketing the Lakes Council, and planning events of interest to members.
- The Grants Committee researches available grants and submits applications for specific projects. As a 501c3 nonprofit organization and a certified Wisconsin lake planning organization, the Lakes Council is eligible for a large number of grants.
- The Communications Committee is responsible for coordinating communications with the general public, preparing the quarterly newsletter, maintaining the website, sending out media releases, and producing and editing all Lakes Council publications.
