Projects
The Lakes Council initiates and partners with other groups to accomplish projects that support its mission. Recent projects focus on the following topics:
- Aquatic Invasive Species
- Lake Monitoring
- Stream Monitoring
- Watershed Network
We have also helped partners by offering logistical help or letters of support for their projects, including:
- East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission efforts to improve watershed modeling to give citizens in urbanizing areas more information about how land use choices will impact pollution and run-off into the lakes
- The League of Women Voters efforts to provide a citizen forum to spread understanding of the impacts of invasive species in the lakes
- Wild Ones efforts to establish a Fox Valley Center for Environmental Stewardship at the West Shore Preserves in the Town of Menasha
- Friends of Picnic Point efforts to protest the potential sale of a 117 acre state property, one of the largest undeveloped shorelines remaining on Lake Winnebago
